--- Case has a small chip and a few fine cracks which I detail the locations below (it's a solid feeling case).  1/4 plate ambrotype of a young boy, there is an interesting jigsaw style aging artifact on the plate (I had at first thought this was a tintype but using a flashlight I could see there is a backing behind the plate in the black areas, it was actually hard to see for sure but looking at the light background edge next to his coat I can see there is a lower backing in the black area).  Removing the photo from the case I see some rust on a tin backing plate which made me originally think this was a tintype.  I can see some dust spotting that I'm guessing is behind the front plate but I'm not sure.  I just noticed using a bright flashlight that there is a checker pattern in his coat (very hard to notice because of the dust spots). Eyes have a blue tint applied.  Case has a small edge chip, a few cracks but is solid and closes firmly.   The chip is on the right edge of the case top lower right and has a short crack on either side.  Crack seen on lower hinge area.  Crack upper right corner of lid from inside edge (not on the top area).  Tiny cracks seen at 3 corners of the case bottom inside border edge, they don't show on the sides and are tiny and fine and I don't know if they have something to do with the case molding, the lower left corner of that same outer border has a tiny chip.  A little green oxidation on a few  spots on the inner metal frame.  Some tiny outer case edge fleabite chips.
